For nearly 30 years, EDHEC Business School has been a pioneer in combining law, management, and innovation. Through the EDHEC Augmented Law Institute, it aims to place law, legal professionals, and their skills at the heart of business transformation.
In an era shaped by AI, automation, and legal operations, legal departments need concrete tools to assess and drive excellence. The EDHEC Augmented Law Institute, with the support of Septeo Legal Suite, has developed indexes measuring legal department performance across key areas. These indexes have led to the creation of transformation radars, available at LegalPerformers.com/LegalChampion, allowing teams to benchmark in real time, prioritize actions, and track progress over time.
In 2025, two radars are available:

AI and the economic pressure to “do more with less” are driving a rethink of the relationship between legal departments and lawyers: project-based work, management of legal procurement, optimization of business models, and value-based billing.

Leveraging research led by Christophe Roquilly and Soufiane Kherrazi, legal teams can now benchmark their performance and pursue certification in innovation. The first “Innovative Legal Department” index was developed based on empirical studies conducted with Ubisoft’s legal department, recognized as a leader in legal innovation, combined with an extensive review of the literature.
Using research with leading organizations like Ubisoft, the Innovative Legal Department index benchmarks strategic, managerial, and behavioral levers, empowering legal teams to drive innovation and create tangible business value.

In partnership with the EDHEC Augmented Law Institute, Legal Suite supports the transformation of legal departments. Together, we are committed to driving innovation, fostering best practices, and empowering legal teams to deliver strategic value.
